Our 2nd Week in Merida!

Hola a todos de nuevo!

We have officially started our third week in Merida! We are almost half way through the program... It's really hard to believe it!

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

As usual, we had sports on Wednesday. This time, some of our students decided to play basketball. The rest played soccer! In both cases, local children joined us!!! It was very fun!!!

THURSDAY: COOKING YUCATECAN FOOD

On Thursday, we had two special guests: mamá Irene and Magda. Two of our host mothers came to our school to teach us how to cook Yucatecan food. Our students were divided into five groups and then it was time to get started!!!

Our hard work paid off! We got the chance to taste the result!!!!

FRIDAY: EXCURSIONS TO UXMAL AND LOLTUN

On Friday, we visited two amazing places: Uxmal and Loltun!

At Uxmal, we got the chance to explore the area and climb a pyramid! The view from the pyramid was breathtaking!

SATURDAY AT CHIMAY

On Saturday we went to the town of Chimay to continue our volunteer work at another Mayan community. We worked very hard and were very happy to be able to help!
