We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for following us! This week has been full of excitement: we went on our longest excursion!
Happy 4th of July!! We had pizza and drinks to celebrate it!!!!
We changed the day for sports since we wanted to do something fun on Wednesday: we wanted to watch Independence Day 2!
Unfortunately, the weather was against us. It was pouring and we had to cancel sports. But the rain didn't stop us from having fun! We played some music and danced!!!
We had an optional activity on Wednesday: we went to the movies! Many of our students had expressed their wish to watch "Independence Day 2." So decided to go together!!!
It was the start of our weekend-long trip to Tulum! We arrived at our school at 7:45am and we headed to our first stop along the way: Punta Laguna.
Punta Laguna is part of a natural reserve for spider monkeys in the Yucatan Peninsula. He formed three teams and we set off to explore the jungle and spot some monkeys!!
After spotting some spider monkeys, we cooled off in a lagoon!
We settled down in our bedrooms and then we went to explore the town and eat dinner.
Saturday was a busy day!!! We had breakfast in the morning and then we went to see and explore the Mayan ruins at Tulum. It was a VERY HOT and HUMID day!!!!
After touring around the ruins, it was time to do some snorkeling!!!!
After snorkeling, it was beach time!!!
Sunday was our last day in Tulum... we bid farewell to Tulum and headed back to Mérida! But we made a stop along the way: we visited the town of Valladolid!
We had a Yucatecan lunch at a restaurant that had a view of a wonderful cenote.
|There was a dance show at the restaurant as well!|
